BDK Business Seminar: Introduction to Financial Derivatives

09.06.2011 BDK successfully organized a seminar on financial derivatives today at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Belgrade. The legal environment has recently been enriched by the new Law on Bankruptcy, which for the first time contains provisions on close-out netting, as well as the new Law on Foreign Exchange, making financial derivatives a topic of increasing interest. The seminar was led by Tijana Kojovic, partner at BDK. Other speakers at this event included experienced professionals such as Dario Kadiev, executive director from the London based investment bank Nomura, Zoltan lengyel, partner at Allen & Overy, Snezana Madzarevic, senior advisor in the sector for monetary system & policy at the National Bank of Serbia, Bojan Lecic, head of treasury at Banca Intesa Belgrade and Svetislav Kostic, of counsel at Deloitte/University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law. The event presented and discussed the economic basis of these instruments, transactional documents used in trade, the basic legal risks, as well as the relevant domestic regulations.
